Irish bank & public holidays
If you're living in Dublin or planning to come here, you will like to know this country has a big number of holidays, either bank holidays or public holidays
The bank holidays in Ireland for 2015 are:
- The June bank holiday, the first Monday in June (1 June 2015)
- The May bank holiday “May Day”, the first Monday in May (4 May 2015)
- The August bank holiday, the first Monday in August (3 August 2015)
- Halloween, the last Monday in October (26 October 2015)
Halloween is always 31 October so the long weekend that falls at the end of the month is often used as a part of the festivities of Halloween.
The Public Holidays in Ireland for 2015 are:
- 1 January, Thursday: New Years´s Day
- 17 March, Tuesday: St Patrick´s Day
- 6 April, Monday: Easter Monday

On all holidays, banks and schools are closed and most businesses are closed or will open only for a few hours. Public transport is usually on a less-frequent timetable, like on Sundays.
